HABACUC S. BESSIAKE

Habacuc S. Bessiake is a mixed-media Artist, Illustrator, and Muralist. He graduated from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan where he continues to work. His work surrounds narratives. His affinity for storytelling is rooted in growing up with a big Ivorian family. Sharing stories, telling jokes, and entertaining siblings with made-up tales. Now he expresses stories visually. 

Bessiake’s work seeks to act as a portal for viewers. An opportunity to look into moments, true and fictional, from compelling points of view. His method of execution is often a mix of mediums. The variation among mediums emerges from whatever he feels best expresses an image’s concept. The process of creation can involve ink, oil, pastel, acrylic, digital media, cut paper, and more. The mix of worlds comes together to create his current body of work.
