Welcome to My Invisible World

A future direction of my lemon work seeks to engage with oil paint and the conversation of this medium on canvas. This, illustrating the role that the black body has performatively played on canvas over time . Both materials (oil and lemon) have a certain weight in depicting the human form, its visibility or complete lack thereof, and the vibrancy of its color. This color is also telling on the unsettling presence of absence in the conversation of black/brown history erased or left unacknowledged in general institutions of art and society. The burning desire for these stories and realities to be seen rekindles a new hope that the curtain of oil will be removed to tell a deeper story within the history of painting and its alchemy.
