M Contemporary Art is pleased to present A Moment Away, a new collection of landscape photographs by Brian Day, whom many know for his famed series Detroit from Above. Having spent the last 10 years documenting the people and places in and around the city of Detroit with its highs and lows, Brian Day takes A Moment Away as a departure devoted to self-care. Occasionally, life permits us to make great escapes to distant places, sharing peaceful sunsets against the sounds of the sea. More often, however, we find our respite in quiet places close to home. Small parks, a riverfront, nature preserves, and even local hiking paths become mental and emotional recharging stations - interludes stolen from the chaos of life. A Moment Away is meant to celebrate those cathartic moments of reflection that allow us to recenter and rejoin our daily battles renewed.
